Who are The Friends of the Children's Network?

The Friends of the Children's Network is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was created in 2011 to provide financial support to The Children's Network of Stark County Child Advocacy Center which provides healing and justice to victims abuse, violence in the home, or human trafficking.

Where are donated funds spent and used for?

Friends of The Network provide every child that enters the Children's Network with a brand new set of pajamas and also hygiene products.  Additionally, snacks and water are given to the victims and family to enjoy while they are waiting for their appointment.  Research shows that eating lowers anxiety and stress.

The Friends also purchase educational and healing books for victims along with other supplies as needed such as emergency clothing, blankets, and treats for the therapy dog.  We provide sand, flowers, and chalk for the outdoor patio garden where the children can relax and enjoy a protected outdoor area while visiting the Network.

Each child is also given a butterfly kit to build at the Network which symbolizes growth and change.  Butterflies are displayed throughout the Children's Network so that all visitors can gain inspiration, strength, and peace.

The Inspire Group is another avenue of healing where teenage victims can have a safe group of teens who have gone through the same experiences and can heal together by going on outings and field trips together.  The Friends support the group with supplies and ancillary items to facilitate therapeutic activities.

Our most significant expense is the annual holiday party celebration for the children treated at the Network.  We provide them with gifts, especially essential items, that are handed to them by Santa.
